Testimonials

"Greg Yank was impressive as a facilitator for our recent Board of Directors strategic planning meeting. He helped to focus our Board on determining the long-term priority issues and challenges facing our Association. Greg particularly demonstrated his skills as a good listener, but equally outstanding is his ability to get the Board members to a comfort level in which interaction and communication is enhanced. I would strongly commend Mr. Yank for his team-building abilities."

Tim Garvey, Executive Director, Southern Illinois Builders Association

"Mr. Yank has facilitated two special meetings of the O'Fallon Township High School District 203 Board of Education as it addressed short and long-term educational and facility goals and objectives for our community. Our board and administration are extremely pleased with the facilitation of these meetings and will continue to seek and to use the facilitation expertise of Mr. Yank. Greg has outstanding communication skills and abilities to elicit, to facilitate, and to focus meetings without overt direction and control. Consensus is reached and goals and objectives are clarified, set and met in a relaxed and natural atmosphere of intellectual and cooperative discourse. He is one of the best!"

Russ Clover, Superintendent, O'Fallon Township High School

"Our experience with the TAB Board has enabled my partner and me to focus some time ON our business and not just IN our business. Like most owners and managers we get caught up with small things in our day to day activities and never find the time to improve and upgrade our business. You may not realize the consequences of not doing the little things in your business that could cost you a severe amount of money and /or time.

We were fortunate to learn a good deal in our now 18 months of being on the TAB Board. We have since developed an employee manual, started having quarterly staff meetings, improved our insurance (saving us over $21,000), developed our store image and logos, and tackled a lot of issues that my partner and I were too afraid to approach each other about. Having a partner can cause an extreme amount of resistance, anger, and wear on a relationship. Through our monthly one-on-one meetings with our TAB facilitator Greg Yank, we have gotten a lot out in the open. My partner and I have a much better view of our future and are now working in the same direction.

We still have a ton of issues to resolve and we continue to find it hard to keep our feet to the fire. But having a third party involved, the TAB Board and the individual attention, they are able to provide, keeps us focused on resolving the issues we have, instead of prolonging the pain. Through the TAB Board we are able to experience many of the problems that other companies are having. This makes it possible to stop problems way ahead of time. With all the laws, loopholes, and issues related to business, having this type of format is an incredible tool for us."

"Greg helped us with some family transition leadership planning. He brought us through some very difficult situations to a place I think which surprised all of us. He helped us stay focused and on track and when we all agreed to find an outside CEO for our company, he presented very qualified candidates and steered us through the process."

"When my father, the owner and President of the Wicks Companies passed away it was not clear as to who the leadership of our companies should be. My brother, my sister and myself were the active siblings involved in the business at the time. As the result we decided to place our mother in the top position. This was not a position she really wanted or was ready to handle. She was put right in the middle of her children, customers and employees. Since then our businesses and family has struggled.

When we came to you we were searching for an answer to this dilemma and you walked us through a number of possible solutions. The solution you introduced to us was to bring in an outside leader to help our businesses and our family. This solution was hard to swallow as we were a hundred year old family owned and managed company with no outside leadership. After much discussion, it became apparent that this solution might work so we began interviewing for a CEO/Consultant from the business world who had successfully managed a company. We found Mr. Tom Briggs former CEO of Cooper/B-Line. Somehow or another we all agreed on Tom together. Agreeing on things in the past seldom happened. Tom has been working with our family now for the last month and now I don’t know how we managed without him.

Thank you for your help, I see our future improving already and I think that this was a very good solution. I know we would not have come to an agreement on this with out your help. Looking to report to you a successful turn around of our companies in the near future."

"Since joining TAB two years ago, the benefits for me have been both personal and professional. On a personal level TAB has showed me that I need to let go of my business at times and focus on personal goals. Achieved goals include purchasing real estate, spending time away from my business, and starting an exercise program.

On a professional level TAB has helped my business revise our employee manual, mediate an important planning session with employees, begin working on an operations manual, and establish a five year strategic plan just to name a few. The TAB process and our facilitator Greg Yank have proved to be a valuable asset for our business."

"TAB has been a positive influence in how I run my business. The open forum, with no competitive pressures, allows for open and frank discussions. The input and support that I receive from my TAB peers gives me a sounding board for important decisions that I make."
